Irish Village, East Durham New York

The Gaelic football fields at the Cultural Centre are home to many big games of Irish sports in America. The Gaelic fields were built as an essential part of the mission to preserve Irish sports in America.

Since they were built in 1999 they have been put to good use. There have been many the game of Gaelic Football, Hurling and Rugby played at these grounds. There has also been a history of Irish teams traveling from Ireland to East Durham also to play on these grounds. The most recent teams that played on these grounds were Mayo, Roscommon and Clare. The stories of these games can be heard in the pubs around town every night of the week.

There is also a baseball field on the grounds beside the Gaelic pitch too. The local schools and softball teams play little league games on this field weekly.
